Claire is a Partner at Arcadis which is the leading global Design & Consultancy firm for natural and built assets. Applying deep market sector insights and collective design, consultancy, engineering, project and management services, Arcadis work in partnership with their clients to deliver exceptional and sustainable outcomes throughout the lifecycle of their natural and built assets. Based in the Midlands, Claire is Regional Sector Lead for Technology in the UK. With over 25 years of experience in the Construction sector, Claire started her career doing a degree in Building Surveying followed by an MSc in Construction Project Management and was awarded the Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Award Construction Category in 2005. A Fellow of RICS and member of the Association of Project Management, Claire is also a mentor to several people across the industry, a member of the Technical Advisory Board for Birmingham City University and also has carried out guest lecturing to the undergraduate construction students.
Claire has also recently completed a coaching course with Circl coaching achieving the Association for Coaching Certification working with future leaders from under-represented groups from across the region. A passionate advocate of diversity & inclusion and the personal development of people across the sector, Claire has an authentic and collaborative management style and is always keen to find new challenges particularly embracing new technologies and different ways of working.
Claire was inspired to join the industry by her father who was a regional property manager for Land Securities who then became self-employed with his own construction and property company. His passion, vision, and innate ability to transform properties whilst delivering exceptional quality, inspired Claire to follow in his footsteps into a career in Construction.
Balancing her busy workload at Arcadis delivering global portfolios of work, developing new business and Office Director for the Birmingham Office, Claire is also a mum to two children, Amelia 15, and Tom 10. Lockdown has also resulted in the successful completion of couch to 5K and despite the constant juggling, she has managed to maintain running at least 3 times a week and has also started painting using acrylics for the first time – positive lockdown experiences! Claire is incredibly excited to be joining the Mentoring Circle Initiative and having the opportunity to share her experiences and continue with her passion for developing others.
