
As UK Head of Building Structures, Claire leads a 500 strong team in their work across WSP’s Property and Buildings portfolio, spanning 20 different sectors including Healthcare, Commercial, Energy, Rail, Defence etc. As a member of WSP’s UK Leadership Team, Claire is responsible for driving strategic growth, championing client care and supporting a culture of limitless career opportunities.
Claire has specialised in managing multi-disciplinary design teams on complex, major projects. She has worked on a number of high-profile projects including Alderhey Hospital, London Bridge Station Redevelopment, Paddington Square, HS2 Euston Station, HS2 Birmingham Curzon Street Station and Defra SCAH.
Claire is also passionate about making positive sustainable change and she developed WSP UK’s Carbon Neutral Operations by 2025 strategy as part of her former role as Head of Corporate Social Responsibility.
In 2009 Claire co-founded engineering charity Cameroon Catalyst, which facilitates community led, sustainable infrastructure improvements supporting over 20,000 locals in East Cameroon. In 2015, Claire was awarded an MBE in recognition for “Services to civil engineering and international charity work”.
Claire is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and feels strongly about building diversity in the engineering and construction industries. She has represented the next generation on the ICE Council, The Green Construction Board and The Major Projects Association Board.
