Gemma is a Director and member of the Senior Leadership Team at Thomas & Adamson, she joined T&A (part of the EGIS Group) in February 2025 in a new role as Head of London Cost Management.
Gemma will be responsible for the growth of her team, and the London Cost Management business., delivering projects across a diverse range of sectors.
Gemma has experience leading sectors, teams and projects with broad experience across small to hyperscale projects.
Gemma has over 26 years’ experience working in business, with over 21 of those in Cost Management. Gemma’s core skills are in people management and problem solving, often parachuted into complex projects or environments where collaboration and strong stakeholder management are key.
Gemma’s career has seen her working with clients such as BBC, Royal Mail, various Universities and Borough Councils, through to complex Data Centres and even Battersea Power Station, where she managed the Site Wide Infrastructure including the Main Energy Centre. One of Gemma’s early career highlights was working client side for Historic Royal Palaces, where she became chartered. Gemma very much enjoyed having an office within Hampton Court Palace and Tower of London.
Gemma’s clients provide personal feedback on her contribution, complimenting her strategic input, strong company representation, core cost consultancy skills, and high emotional intelligence. Gemma believes these are also skills that help her with mentoring, which she enjoys doing inside and outside of her workplace. Gemma is passionate about helping women to take ownership of their careers and increase footfall of women who enter and remain in construction as a profession.
Gemma has one son (17), a stepson (17), a husband, one dog and four cats.
