Gill’s expansive career in the construction industry started three decades ago when she embarked upon a Construction Management course at Nene College. It was there that Gill discovered what has turned into a life-long passion for collaborative working, a distinctive and necessary feature of the construction and property industry. Gill studied Quantity Surveying at the University of the West of England, and after graduating, worked as part of the Construction Management team delivering The Guildhall Yard East development for the Corporation of London, a fascinating and challenging project constructed over the Scheduled Monument remains of the Roman Amphitheatre of Londinium.

Gill’s next role was with Henry Riley & Son’s London office, working as a Project Manager, managing a number of retail developments for J Sainsbury and Homebase. During her time at Henry Riley & Son Gill achieved her chartership with the RICS. In 1997 Gill left the UK for Singapore where she was based for three years. During this time Gill worked as a managing Quantity Surveyor with KPK Quantity Surveyors on numerous large-scale residential condominium developments, commercial office projects and the conversion of the historical General Post Office into the now famous Fullerton Hotel.

Upon Gill’s return to the UK in 2001 she joined Davis Langdon and in the years that followed Gill went on to work on some significant London and international projects such as The Cumberland and Connaught Hotels, Langley Academy, Pioneerpoint, Minthis Hills Golf Resort in Cyprus, the Baha Mar resort development in the Bahamas, King Abdullah Sports City, Chiswick Park, Sky Campus Masterplan, Mark Lane, Principal Place, Holland Green and Battersea Power Station Phase 3.

Gill also spent a year working in Toronto Canada with Altus Group in 2008 where she was involved in many of the city’s mixed-use luxury hotel and residential tower projects, Shangri La and Four Season among them, as well as the Waterfront, Railway Lands and North York Regeneration Masterplanning Schemes with many of the city’s prominent developers.

Gill is committed to the continuous development of the industry and is actively involved in research and Thought Leadership with regular contributions to both in-house and external publications. Gill has had her articles published in journals including Construction Manager and Building Magazine. Gill’s reviews have included topics such as BIM, the Private Rental Sector (PRS / BTR), Residential and Serviced Apartments, Net Zero Carbon and Sustainability.

Gill currently lives in Cambridgeshire with her partner and 8-year-old son. She is a member of Phoenix Chorus, an international award-winning ladies’ barbershop chorus and performed at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in 2016. Over the years Gill has enjoyed extensive travel including her return from Singapore to the UK overland along the Silk Route through China, Central Asia and Russia and a trip to Tanzania where she climbed to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Gill is committed to supporting and inspiring her team and making the world a better place.
