Isla Jackson

Director Scotland

Isla is a hands-on Director managing teams across Scotland and Ireland. Having established the Scottish branch of Civic Engineers in 2017, the year she completed her MBA, she has shaped the growth to now almost 50 people across Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dublin. Prior to this Isla worked in North America and the Middle East, working on large new build structural projects.

Isla is passionate about buildings and the spaces in between them. As a chartered engineer with the IstructE and Fellow of the Association of Consulting Engineers in Ireland, she aims to create inspirational structures and places that have a positive impact on the environment and enable people to lead happier and healthier lives.

The skills Isla has developed are rooted in a system thinking approach, and she actively champions circular economy principles and nature-based solutions – firmly placing climate resilience and people at the heart of her engineering. This led on to her recent tenure as a Trustee for the Green Action Trust.
