Josaphine Ford

Assistant Director At Deloitte Real Estate

Josaphine, or Jo as she is more commonly known, is an assistant director at Deloitte Real Estate where she provides real estate consultancy advice across the UK and Europe, using her valuation skills to support a wide range of real estate projects with a flexible and adaptable approach. She is a Member of the Royal institution of Chartered Surveyors, a RICS Registered Valuer and is working towards becoming a Fellow of the RICS. Jo is a Chairperson and Assessor for the RICS Assessment of Professional Competency, responsible for new chartered surveyors entering the profession. She is an active alumnus of Sheffield Hallam University, speaking on panels and sharing her experiences with students.

Jo has been working in real estate for the past 16 years, originally working part time in an estate agency during her A-Levels she then went on to obtain a first-class honours degree at Sheffield Hallam University in Business Property Management. From there she started on a graduate scheme at DTZ (now Cushman and Wakefield) in commercial property where she qualified as a chartered surveyor when she was 24. A few years after, she took a year’s sabbatical to travel solo around the world starting in India and finishing in South America, which she considers one of the best life decisions. As such she is an advocate for taking time out, especially if it involves travel.

Following seven years at Cushman and Wakefield, Jo joined Deloitte Real Estate in 2017. In the summer of 2018 she was selected to take part in a six-month secondment at Deloitte’s Amsterdam office before returning to her home in Manchester where she is currently based. She lives in South Manchester with her partner and Kooikerhondje (have a google!) and enjoys exploring the world, paddle boarding, and trying out experimental cooking. Jo considers herself a ‘people person’ with part of the attraction going into the property industry being  the ‘people’ aspect of the sector. She is passionate about developing and inspiring others and a firm believer that ‘a rising tide lifts all boats’.
