Louisa Finlay

Kier Construction, Chief People Officier England

Louisa Finlay is Kier Group’s chief people officer, having risen through the organisation over the past 35 years.

Starting out as a trainee engineer on a sandwich degree, Louisa has worked on vital infrastructure projects across the UK, from constructing buildings over train stations in the UK’s capital, to working as a senior engineer on a power station to becoming an operations director and leading major projects, including the Science Museum and others worth over £70m+.

In 2015, Louisa moved into a senior leadership role within the Construction business, and also became the lead of our Balanced Business Network, an employee led community focused on inclusion within Kier.

In 2020 she assumed responsibility for the business’s sustainability agenda, and the following year, Louisa took on the role of digital lead at Kier.

In March 2023, Louisa was promoted on to Kier’s executive committee as its chief people officer. Louisa passionately believes that Kier is built by brilliant people, and that the construction industry is open to all.

She is determined to attract the best talent into the construction industry and ensure that Kier has a culture and ambition to develop and support its people so that everyone feels they belong, can contribute and thrive.

Louisa has won the lifetime achievement at The European Women in Construction & Engineering (WICE) Awards.
