
Morven Tipping is a seasoned construction professional with over 30 years’ experience in the Scottish construction industry. She recently joined Laing O’Rourke, a leading multinational engineering and construction enterprise, as a Senior Design Manager.
Morven began her career as a Site Engineer and progressed through site management roles before transitioning into design management. Her hands-on experience brings a deep understanding of buildability and practical delivery to her current role. She has led major projects across the healthcare and education sectors, working with NHS Health Boards including Greater Glasgow & Clyde, Ayrshire and Arran, Fife, and Lanarkshire, as well as local authorities such as North Lanarkshire, Edinburgh, and West Lothian.
Known for her collaborative leadership style and commitment to quality and innovation, Morven was named Scottish CIOB Innovator of the Year in 2023. She is passionate about the full project lifecycle – from early contractor involvement through to handover – and thrives in dynamic environments where she can continuously learn and build strong teams.
Balancing a successful career with family life, Morven worked part-time for eight years while raising her three children, before returning to full-time work with Morgan Sindall a decade ago. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, walking her dog, and spending time with family and friends.
