Penny is a Residential Development Director at Stanhope for projects in design, pre-development and delivery. She is a Chartered Surveyor, with over 20 years experience in the residential development sector.
Her career started in the mid ‘90s recession, where she worked in the Insolvency Team at Coopers & Lybrand. It was here that she became interested in the development side of the property industry – reinventing assets which had come to the end of their useful life. After qualifying, she went on to lead residential projects at Taylor Woodrow Capital Developments and Hammerson, creating and selling apartments in a wide range of developments in Central London and across the country.
Since joining Stanhope in 2013, Penny has worked across all mixed use projects, significantly Television Centre, where Stanhope are delivering a 14 acre masterplan incorporating residential units, a hotel, private members club, office and leisure space and One Bishopsgate Plaza, a 257 bed hotel and 160 private apartments in a 42 storey tower in the City of London.
Penny takes a particular interest in product development from the wider masterplan through to detailed aspects of the residential product. She enjoys working out what will make a place come to life for all those who use it: whether it is their home, workplace, relaxation space or they are just passing through.
Penny lives in Surrey with her husband, two sons and dog. When she isn’t juggling work with keeping family life running smoothly she enjoys being active outdoors, especially on the water. More than anything she loves a chilled glass of wine in the sunshine with the sand between her toes!
