Polly Plunket-Checkemian

Aletheia, Director

Polly belongs to a collective of real estate specialists who make places work. For more than 35 years, she has specialised in estate, asset and property management for listed property companies, global real estate consultancies and smaller agencies, and is now helping developers and investors with strategic placemaking.

During her career she has led business units, such as Cushman & Wakefield’s UK Property & Asset Management service line and sat on boards at C&W and Broadgate Estates, a wholly owned subsidiary of British Land plc, and latterly MAPP.  She has held Strategy and Consulting roles for the last 7 years.

Advising developers seeking design and set up advice and investors seeking transformation of assets and management models, she has never failed to be amazed at the schemes she has been lucky enough to work with.  Whether in relation to landmarks such as 110 Bishopsgate or major landholdings and estates such as Regent Street or Television Centre, White City Place, she grasps nettles providing strategic advice which makes real estate work for people, not just the balance sheet.

Taking nothing too seriously, she is most serious about the need for property management to address the chasm between provider and customer and ensuring resilience to climate change and decarbonisation are at the heart of her projects.

Home life comprises two daughters who have flown the nest and pottering in the garden with her dog. Each stage of her career has shown the expectations we place on ourselves and the invisible obstacles we face. Since her early years, she has seen huge strides made for a better balanced workplace and wants to see this continue providing fair opportunity for all.
