Sara joined Savills in 2012 as a Director within the Property Management Division and has held both strategic and primarily operational positions, most notably as Head of UK Operations. Originally qualified as a Chartered Building Service Engineer, Sara is a seasoned leader with over 35 years’ experience in engineering, construction and real estate, creating and delivering operational solutions across diverse property portfolios in the UK. She brings a track record of business transformation, commercial strategy, and hands-on leadership.
With a keen sense for identifying innovative commercial opportunities, Sara has created numerous new and successful Service lines across the Division. As a passionate Environmentalist, she created Savills Earth, a specialist consultancy division, by bringing together over 85 specialists across Savills (in the middle of the Covid pandemic!) to support and advise clients on their sustainability, energy and carbon strategies.
As a mentor, Sara is passionate about helping emerging professionals navigate both life and career transitions by understanding their values, building on their strengths and growing their confidence to build fulfilling careers. She is particularly focused on supporting individuals to achieve meaningful progress whilst maintaining a healthy work- life balance.
Outside of work and being brought up in the Lake District, Sara is usually found out on the hills or swimming in lakes with family and friends and occasionally on a hockey pitch playing for the ‘Vintage Vets’. As a qualified Hill & Moorland Leader, Sara volunteers frequently leading youths on the hills as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. Sara lives in Cheshire with her husband and is almost an ‘empty-nester’ with just 1 of her 3 grown up children still at home.
