Sarah is the Head of Client Accounting & Reporting for ESR Europe, an investment, asset, and property manager with over £1bn of assets under management across the UK and Western Europe.
With a degree in English Literature( including an exchange year in the USA) the move to become a Chartered Accountant was a bit of a change in direction for Sarah when she joined the tax department of PwC in 2000, where she also gained her Chartered Tax Advisor qualification.
After 8 years with the firm a real estate client offered Sarah a job based on the work she did to structure that business for bank investment. After the 2008 financial crisis, Sarah honed her skills as a CA in industry before returning to that legacy business as Deputy Finance Director and ultimately becoming Finance Director.
Over the last ten years, Sarah has built the finance team from 8 to 35 people and led the design and implementation of a full suite of processes and controls, working closely with her property colleagues to maximise operational efficiency. She has worked closely with the COO, Head of Corporate Finance and General Counsel over the last 10 years on equity raises in public markets, the raising of debt and numerous corporate M&A deals. Sarah also looked after HR matters along with the COO and General Counsel.
Most recently, the legacy business has been acquired by what is now ESR Europe and Sarah has taken on the role of Head of Client Accounting and Reporting. She sits on the Executive Committee of the newly integrated business and chairs the Operations Committee and Co-chairs the People Committee.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 sons and, when she can, likes to take part in local amateur theatre productions.
