Sharon Mbow

Head of Learning & Development, Berkeley Group England

I am a relative newcomer to the built environment which started in 2015 when I joined Laing O’Rourke. I moved across to Berkeley in 2021 and in both businesses have continued with my love of all things behavioural and performance related. We, as humans are full of surprises and sometimes surprising capability.  As AI emerges we’re going to be tested again. How do we retain and grow our ability to be a core reason people want to be part of a workplace?

To give some broader context, I spent my first 23 years in business with the John Lewis Partnership. After my fourth child I decided to go it alone and took up consultancy work which included working with Head Teachers in the education system, The National Gallery and the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability to name a few.

Having got the family in order I rejoined the world of business and spent time working in The Telegraph Media Group, Reed Learning and finally Laing O’Rourke.

My focus and specialism has always been in people development and strategies to support business performance.

In my current role I spend my time working with leaders to build engagement and develop teams and individuals so they continue to find value and joy in a workplace.
